CS Superlight is an ultra-lightweight mineral aggregate designed to dramatically reduce the weight of GFRC and other cement-based products without adding bulky conventional lightweight fillers.
Made from small, lightweight granules approximately 2–4mm in diameter, CS Superlight can be incorporated into the backing mix of GFRC products to displace heavier sand and cementitious material. This makes it particularly useful for large basins, benchtops, furniture, panels, planters and architectural elements where finished weight can become a major consideration.
The granules are easy to mix and distribute throughout the concrete matrix, allowing substantial weight reduction while retaining the solid, mineral character of a cement-based product.
For the best surface finish, we recommend using CS Superlight primarily in the backing mix, behind a conventional GFRC face coat. This keeps the lightweight aggregate away from the finished surface while reducing the overall weight of the casting.
Ideal for making larger, lighter and easier-to-handle GFRC products without resorting to foam cores or other complex construction methods.
